Dear Dr. Javaid Rehman, United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran,

Ms. Zahra Navidpour’s dead body was discovered in her mother’s house located in Tazeh Ghaleh Town on Sunday January 6. She had been the victim of rape by Salman Khodadadi, current member of parliament from Malekan, member of Revolutionary Guards (Sepah Pasdaran) and head of Social Affairs Committee of parliament.

Based on the report from Farabi Hospital of Malekan City, when her body was transfered to the hospital, there were no vital signs.

Salam khodadadi’s collaborative agents, head of Revolutionary Guards of Malekan and Prosecutor of Malekan all rebutted this case and stated that this 28-year-old woman had put an end to her life by suicide.

Ms. Navidpour, a graduate in law, had been threatened to deny her accusation by Salman Khodadadi several times for the last four years. However, she was determined to follow her case bravely. On the other hand, due to a systematic corruption in the Judicial System of Iran, herlegal and judicial follow up had yielded no result.

Salman Khodadadi has had other posts in her resume: Commander of the Revolutionary Guards of Malekan City and Deputy head of the Intelligence Bureau of Ardabil Province. According to the Judicial System of Iran’s Archive, Salman Khodadadi has extensive criminal and moal records.

Salman Khodadadi was previously accused of sexual harassment and raping his secretary and one of the visitors to his office and sentenced to imprisonment accordingly.

Finally, Ms. Zahra Navidpour, brave Azerbaijani woman, publicized all her conversation and corresponding in media. She had reported repeatedly of the threats to herself and her family by the agents of Iranian Regime and in a short note, she says, ” If they kill me one day, be my talking voice”.

Therefore, as Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement ( SANAM, in Azerbaijani Turkish GAMOH), we feel responsible for being Zahra Navidpour’s voice for justice. We hope that, by forming a special working group and investigating all the presented documents, the details of this crime against humanity are revealed, and Iranian Regime is asked to respond.

With Regards,

Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement
